Kuwait English School Students Return To Digital E-learning Lessons

Yesterday was a most unusual and unique manner in which to commence a new school year with no students at all attending School!  Due to the continued presence of the Corona virus Pandemic, many schools in Kuwait have been obliged to deliver education through E-Learning and KES was no exception.
In planning this new start, there prevailed renewed spirit of optimism, as Teaching staff made the final preparations to be ready to greet their students on their first digital learning day, Sunday 6th September.  Mrs. Mrs Barras-Hargan, Head Teacher of the Junior Department, was delighted to welcome students back to school. “We have planned a tailor-made online curriculum using the most up-to-date technology and educational apps to ensure that our students remain engaged and are able to progress to their personal best. An excellent start has been made this morning and students and teachers are already getting to know each other so that effective working relationships are built. Well-being of staff and students is a priority and this theme is embedded in all that we have planned as we start this promising academic year.”
The School Management and Senior High School Principal, Mrs. Janet Carew, had been much encouraged by recent news of the outstanding achievements of many  KES students who had taken external examinations in IGCSE/GCSE/AS/A Level examinations, many students having been accepted to take up places at some of the most prestigious Universities throughout the world among these being: Berkeley University,  University College London (UCL), Imperial College London, Kingston University, University of Glasgow, University of Kent, University of Sheffield,  John Moores University Liverpool, Hope University Liverpool, University of Leeds, Boston College USA, University of Nevada, Royal College of Surgeons Dublin, University of Ottawa, University of Dalhousie. A good number of students have also been accepted to study Medicine at Kuwait University.
The School has recently received the customary number of appreciations from students who are now poised to embark on their University studies.  One such comment being:
“KES has given me more than just a good education.  It has given me pride to say I was in that School.  It has given me love and honour for everything.  It moulded me into a person I respect and to be respected in the eyes of others.  I thank you for this”
