GREEN UNIT UPDATES

  • Mobile phones & portable wifi (routers)
  • In attempts to curb cyber bullying phenomenon we banned mobile phones in the senior department. Students were informed that if a phone is brought to school for specific reasons, it must be kept in the HT office in the morning, directly after flag raising and it should be collected at 2.30pm. Students found with phones during school hours will be punished with after school detention. In severe cases, the phones will be confiscated and kept at school for a day. Please support us and remind your children to follow school rules in this matter. .
  • School is providing access to internet for all students, this is to facilitate a digital learning platform and support learning. There is no need to have any additional wifi devices and students shouldn’t have those at school.  If we are to ensure safety and prevent cyber bullying, unsecured internet sources, such as private routers, must be banned.
  • Integration – seniors & infants
  • On behalf of GU students I would like to thank Mrs. Carew and Senior High School staff for their fantastic support. Our students are given a chance to attempt mainstream classes  and for the first time, to use main school science labs. Students thoroughly enjoyed practical experiments and are inspired to learn.
  • Huge thanks to Mrs. Caroline Lynskey and infants department for opening the door for our youngest pupils. GU infants are now having the opportunity to share break times with their main school peers.
  • Parental workshops
  • Next week our parents are invited to attend workshops on Safeguarding and Internet safety. Please note that all infant and junior parents should attend Tuesday workshop that starts at 5.30 pm while workshop for senior parents will be held on Wednesday at 6.30. Both events will take place in the main school.
