KES History

‘The Aim Makes Great The Life‘ has been the motto at Kuwait English School (KES) since it was first established in September 1979 and has a vision to Inspire, Challenge and Encourage. The school is proud of its history and remains ambitious, innovative and focussed on providing an excellent education for its students. Students who have graduated from KES go on to study at some of the finest universities around the world and develop strong and long lasting bonds with the school.

KES welcomes students aged 3 – 19 years, offering them the finest in various areas of education including music, art, design, as well as in and after school activities like sports, drama and robotics. We are proud of the all round holistic education that helps to develop such well rounded students equipped with the skills and values needed to become successful leaders of tomorrow. The school follows National Curriculum of England and Wales guidelines and the Headteacher, Deputies and Subject Post-Holders are actively involved in the on-going process of curriculum development. The Ministry of Education Arabic and Islamic programme continues and students are taught by qualified Arabic staff.

The school is divided into four main areas, each one supervised, overseen and developed by four Headteachers who, along with their staff teams, care deeply about education and the quality of life from which the pupils benefit both in and out of school.

Kuwait English School is very well known for its one of a kind theatrical show and concerts. Taking part in drama classes can be incredibly fun for students. It offers them the chance to step into different roles, express their emotions, and explore their creativity through acting and storytelling. Drama activities such as improvisation games, script reading, and theatrical performances can be both entertaining and educational.

Art classes are a source of joy for many students. Creating artwork allows them to unleash their imagination, experiment with colours and materials, and produce pieces that reflect their unique perspectives. Art exhibitions and collaborative projects can make art class even more enjoyable and inspiring. On the other hand, Design Technology classes provide students with hands-on experiences in crafting and building. The satisfaction of designing and creating functional objects, such as prototypes, 3D, or models, can be immensely rewarding. The Art and Design Technology Department at Kuwait English School enriches the students’ lives by offering a variety of extra curricular activities such as the Art and Photography Committee club, Fashion club, Animation club, Mural club and catch-up Art/ DT club.
