Physical education, sport and physical activity play a big part in the life of Kuwait English School and its students. Besides the weekly PE lessons of all students from KG through to year 13, Physical Education is offered as a GCSE subject at years 10 and 11, and a GCE A level subject in years 12 and 13. Graduating students lead onto a variety of career paths, with the obvious route into sport performance, coaching and medicine as well as using the skills developed such as data analysis and presentation skills that are seen as valuable tools for careers in business, finance, marketing and human resources.
In addition Kuwait English School is a founder member of the KFSAC and ISACK organisations which organise interschools competitions within Kuwait across a variety of activities such as football, unihoc, netball, benchball, cricket and swimming at the Junior level (KFSAC) and in basketball, volleyball, netball, football, table tennis and swimming at the Senior level [ISACK].
Kuwait English School is also a member of the British Schools of the Middle East (BSME), regularly competing in international tournaments organised throughout the Middle East. They provide an excellent opportunity for KES students to find further challenges, working towards their potential by competing on an international platform with some of the best schools in the region. These are opportunities for students to meet like-minded students, developing friendships and networks that last a lifetime.
The KES House Competitions are integral to life at the school. Whilst a lot of the competitions revolve around inter house competitions, there are numerous non-sporting activities that students can get involved with, earning points for their House to try and win the House Cup each year.
