U19s BSME Games 2023

Kuwait English School (KES) U19 elite squad of boys and girls team participated in the BSME U19 Games in Abu Dhabi – UAE from 2 – 4 February 2023, and have done remarkably well at the competition, the level of competition was very strong.

The best athletes from KES took part in a variety of activities including football, netball, volleyball and athletics. The KES students fought tooth and nail for every minute of every game, demonstrating the true resolve that lives across KES. The students had a mixture of results, as the majority of them competed on the international stage for the first time in their young sports career, a fantastic achievement as we all begin our transition into a world post-COVID.

Ably supported by the magnificent mums and dads of KES, our students were the textbook example of sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork and problem solving. The team supported one another in all activities, and even reached out to support our neighbouring Kuwait school in times of pressure. They were a perfect role-model for all students to aspire to. Our students had a fantastic day with some wins and some losses. Highlights for our KES squad were:

Girls football places 8 (1st for all the Kuwait teams)

Boys Volleyball placed 9 (3rd out of Kuwait teams)

Overall KES placed 11 out of 12 schools.

These outstanding characteristics were formally recognised by the host school, the following students were voted players of the tournament by the umpires and referees:

  • Omar Serhan
  • Suad Al Sabah
  • Olivia Sieminski

The tournament ended with an amazing trip to Ferrari World as a reward for the fantastic effort that they’ve put in. Each student had a fantastic time; they made friends from a variety of different schools; and created memories to last a lifetime. The future looks bright for the students at KES!

Thank you to all who participated, students and staff in this wonderful event. Thank you to every single parent for your support.
