Dear KES Community,
Following a rigorous selection process, involving the leadership team, teachers, administration staff and students at Kuwait English School, and the Board of Sama Educational Company, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Chris Hansen, as the new Head of School for Kuwait English School.
Mr Hansen is a well-qualified and experienced British educator and leader, who has held leadership posts in prestigious British schools in Bangladesh (Haileybury), Egypt (British International School Cairo), Saudi Arabia (British International School Jeddah) and Dubai (Repton).
With a thorough understanding of British education in the MENA region, Mr. Hansen has established himself as a foremost learning and teaching expert, and as an accomplished and respected leader and administrator. In his most recent posts in Bangladesh and Cairo, he has implemented innovative programmes and systems, which have had a lasting impact on learning and teaching in those schools. Mr. Hansen also brings creative skills, business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit from his experience beyond the education sector.
Mr. Hansen will add a wealth of expertise and talent to KES. We look forward to working with him during the exciting next phase of innovative growth and development of the school.
Mr. Hansen has three adult children. His wife Wendy is a nurse and psychotherapist and will accompany him to Kuwait.
We also offer our eternal thanks for the outstanding leadership that Mrs. Rhoda Mahmoud provided to Kuwait English School for over 40 years. Together with the dedicated staff of KES, she established the school as one of the leading British Schools in the Middle East. Mr. Hansen will build on the impressive legacy that Mrs. Mahmoud has left for the KES community.
