GREEN UNIT UPDATES | |
Clubs All Green Unit term 2 clubs will start on Sunday 20th January. We always encourage our students to attend at least some of the extracurricular activities offered as this will help them develop a range of skills. Please note that students must submit parental consent form and, for safety reasons, weekly register must be kept. A club may be cancelled due to unexpected weather conditions or when a teacher responsible for this club is absent. I would like to thank those parents who support our school philosophy and send their child to take part in different afterschool activities. I know it is not easy to organise transport and dedicate extra time in your busy schedule however, your effort is highly appreciated. Full day entrance assessment This year our entrance assessment procedures changed. We no longer schedule one day for all students to sit their exams; instead individual students will be invited to spend a full day in the unit. This way teachers and specialists can complete their tests as well as student’s behaviour, social interaction and general attitude to school is assessed. IEPs Infants and juniors IEPs will be available on School Portal on Thursday 24th January. Parental questionnaire Parental questionnaire 2019 will be sent to all GU parents soon. We hope information generated from parental feedback will help us to identify potential targets and move school forward. Please help us by completing online survey. National & Liberation Day Celebration 2019 We have agreed that this year Kuwait National and Liberation Day will be celebrated by all KES students and staff on Thursday 21st February. On this day, students are allowed to wear National Kuwaiti costumes (National Mufti Day); there will be an exhibition on Kuwait art, traditions and culture (main school lower playground) and some performances on the upper playgroup. Each department will be allocated a 30 to 40 minutes spot to invite parents. Students will present a couple of dances and parents will have an opportunity to visits many stalls with interesting artifacts. Storytelling Week (30th Jan – 5th Feb) Red Balloon Books are invited to our first Storytelling week, students will have a chance to buy fiction and nonfiction books. Letter with more information will be sent to parents next week PHOTOS OF THE WEEK | |
