Welcome to the Infant Department. This department caters for children in Years 1 and 2. These are amongst the most important years of a child’s life, as this is when their character moulds and develops. A child’s personality traits are largely developed by the age of 7, so it is vital that they are exposed to as wide a variety of experiences as possible in the Early Years. We therefore try to give every child the most memorable experience. We aim to inspire, challenge, encourage and nurture the children in our care. We want them to be ambitious, curious, engaged in their learning and equipped with the skills required for the future. We aim to give them resilience and perseverance and offer them every opportunity to discover their strengths. Our curriculum is well-considered and carefully balanced, with academic rigour and high expectations at the top of the agenda. However, we celebrate individuality and want our children to show character and be proud of who they are.
Developing the whole person, spiritually, socially, physically and morally is as important as the academics. Values and manners are a vital part of our education and we encourage consideration for others, kindness, respect, honesty and tolerance.
I feel privileged to lead such a dedicated team, and together we work hard to foster an ethos where all children feel safe and happy within an environment that is welcoming and stimulating, promoting the perfect climate for learning and success.
