Universities and employers accept IGCSE Accounting as proof of an understanding of the theory and concepts of accounting, and the ways in which accounting is used in a variety of modern economic and business contexts. Students focus on the skills of recording, reporting, presenting and interpreting financial information; these form an ideal foundation for further study, and for a future career within many professions including accountancy.
There is no core/extended curriculum option/route. The examination board is Pearson Edexcel and the qualification is IGCSE Accounting (4AC1) (9-1). Please see the information about (9-1) grading and its equivalence to A*-G grading on page 4 above.

Accounting is a good foundation for those pupils thinking of a career in Accountancy, Banking & Finance, Management, Insurance, or for those who wish to run their own business.
